Hi Tech Flooring Company Ground Zero to
Offer Lead-Free, RoHS Compliant Products
Ground Zero Electrostatics, Inc. will begin providing Pb-Free, RoHS (Restriction
of Hazardous Substances) complaint products to meet the European Parliament's
deadline of July 1, 2006. In order to take advantage of the EU's growing
technology sector, Ground Zero has added RoHS compliant matting and electronic
storage and intends to add more products in the near future.
In February 2003, the European Union enacted legislation (Directive 2002/95/EC)
restricting the use of certain hazardous materials in electrical and electronic
equipments placed on the market beginning July 1, 2006. This RoHS directive
limits the amount of six environmentally hazardous substances: Lead (Pb), Mercury
(Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr+6), Polybrominated Biphenyl (PBB),
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether (PBDE).
